We purchased the truck in April of 2018 and we had it up and running by summer time. The truck is a 1988 Chevy Stepvan with a V8 350 engine. The truck had formerly been a food truck but needed to be redone completely inside and out. The exterior is a wrap designed by Kaechele Design and Critical Sign, our logo was also designed by Kaechele Design. We redid the interior cab, with a complete paint job, all new gauges, new steering column, and added a passenger seat. The kitchen was in need of much cleaning, we added a new oven/stove/flat top/char broiler unit, new fridge, warmer ovens and work space. We also put diamond plate on the wall and door between the cab and kitchen. We had to rebuild the latches and hardware on the rear and side doors.
Mechanically the truck needed the entire electrical system redone, an entire new cooling system, (radiator, hoses, water pump, etc) and new front brakes.
Although only in business for one year we were voted 2nd runner up for Best Food Truck in Hartford Magazine's "Best of" contest. We also placed 2nd in the Best Food Truck category in the CTNow "Best of Contest" . Our BBQ rub also placed 2nd in the 2017 National BBQ News Rubs of Honor Competition.
